Raita Masala - an aromatic spice blend for preparing milk, kefir, and yogurt-based dishes known as Raita in India. This is a very popular dish, especially in North India. Raita is tasty and beneficial for digestion; it can be served as an addition to the main course.
Yogurt is the main component of all raitas. Yogurt itself is sour, has a warming effect, and is difficult to digest. Preparing yogurt with spices facilitates this process. In Ayurveda, it is believed that yogurt should be consumed only in small quantities, 1-2 spoons with the main course, as this improves digestion. It is important to consume yogurt in very small amounts. In India, it is not customary to consume yogurt in whole cups, as is customary in the West. Only sometimes is this allowed in special health conditions.
In Ayurveda, any fermented milk products, despite their usefulness, are considered mucus-forming and increase Kapha dosha. Therefore, even the most useful dairy products, such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, or kefir, are recommended for consumption only with the addition of spices.
Raita Masala spice blend can be added not only to yogurt but also to milk and kefir, as it gives a unique and unrepeatable taste and, most importantly, contributes to the ideal assimilation of these products.
