Has antiseptic and antibacterial properties, also improves blood circulation and immunity, helps with colic, constipation, food poisoning and respiratory diseases. Relieves migraines and headaches. Sometimes used in moderate amounts for neurological diseases, epilepsy, sciatica, shooting back pain (lumbago). It is also used for abdominal tumors. Pippali has long been used as a powerful stimulant. Adding this spice to dishes has a warming effect on the whole body, activating its internal energy.

Date (Phoenix dactylifera). Possesses high nutritional properties and is similar in this respect to cereals.
