Shatavari Churna – a well-known Ayurvedic remedy that provides a powerful rejuvenating effect on the female body, similar to Ashwagandha's effect on the male body. It is used as an aphrodisiac to boost energy levels and as a potent immunomodulator and blood purifier.
This remedy is considered a female tonic but can be used by both sexes. It's used as a powerful immunomodulator and detoxification agent to cleanse the lymphatic system in cases of liver and gastrointestinal disorders such as jaundice, anemia (including associated dizziness and fainting), diarrhea, digestive disorders with dyspepsia, hyperacidity, gastritis, ulcers, and gastrointestinal colic.
As an aphrodisiac, Shatavari Churna helps normalize hormone levels, serves as an effective remedy to improve male potency and eliminate inflammation of the genitals, increases libido, and improves semen quality.
The remedy helps restore the body after gynecological surgeries, general weakness, supports women's health, regulates the menstrual cycle, rejuvenates the reproductive system, keeps it toned, and normalizes hormone levels with an excess of male sex hormones.
Shatavari Churna activates energy potential in states of exhaustion, neurasthenia, and irritability, making it useful as an aphrodisiac for general weakness and low immunity.
Furthermore, Shatavari Churna is often prescribed for menstrual dysfunction, particularly premenstrual syndrome, to alleviate unpleasant symptoms of dysmenorrhea such as nausea, vomiting, and lower abdominal pain. It helps alleviate symptoms of amenorrhea, painful and heavy menstruation, and menopause.
The remedy helps neutralize inflammation of the pelvic organs, prevents the formation of pathological processes in the uterus such as fibroids, myomas, endometriosis, cervical erosion, herpes infection, and mastopathy, and promotes lactation.
In Ayurveda, Shatavari Churna treats urinary disorders such as urinary retention, painful urination, and incontinence, which are common symptoms of inflammatory processes of the genitals in men and women, and with benign and malignant neoplasms.
In general, Shatavari Churna is characterized as a diuretic, antispasmodic, antitumor, general tonic, and invigorating agent. It helps balance Vata and Pitta doshas, improves physical and mental abilities, strengthens the nervous system, and is especially useful for anxiety-depressive and hysterical disorders.
Indeed, the rejuvenating effect of Shatavari on the female body is very strong and similar to the effect of Ashwagandha on the male body. This plant is a Rasayana (source of transformation) for Pitta, blood, and the woman's reproductive system.
Science explains the healing properties of Shatavari by its high content of steroid saponins (glycosides), which affect the body like hormones. Due to this effect, the menstrual cycle is normalized, the female reproductive system is rejuvenated, the ability of eggs to fertilize is increased, and the amount of breast milk increases.
By enhancing the conversion of estrone (which slows down metabolism) into estradiol (which accelerates it), Shatavari reduces the risk of cancer, fibroids, and mastopathy, and normalizes weight. This plant also has a beneficial effect on men: by preventing the formation of dihydrotestosterone, it prevents the enlargement of the prostate gland.
In addition to steroid saponins, Shatavari also contains hormones, including testosterone. Despite the fact that this hormone is "male," it increases female libido, allowing one to fully enjoy their desires and life energy. Shatavari is indicated for use in postmenopausal women, when their own testosterone production is reduced by almost half, and for women who have undergone hysterectomy.
Asparagine, a component of Shatavari, also positively affects the body. It belongs to the group of alkaloids and has a regulatory function on the central nervous system, allowing the body to achieve harmony; it also smoothly reduces heart rate and blood pressure. Going through a cycle of transformations in the human body, this substance binds toxic ammonia, cleanses the blood and liver. Bioflavonoids, which are rich in Shatavari, prevent the destruction of cell membranes.
All this restores vital energy to a weakened body, supports in anemia, and prolonged fever. According to Ayurveda, the sattvic nature of Shatavari develops a woman's desire for love and devotion.
