Sukumaram Kashayam (also known as Sukumaaram Kashaayam, Sukumaram Kwatham) is an Ayurvedic tonic for women. This classic herbal-mineral formula, according to Ayurvedic Vedic texts, has a therapeutic effect on the female reproductive system and alleviates several digestive problems.

Menstrual Irregularities:

The preparation has antispasmodic and analgesic effects, thus relieving menstrual cramps, lower abdominal pain, and back pain. Its components ensure smooth uterine contractions, facilitating menstrual flow and reducing pain. Furthermore, Sukumaram Kwatham affects the prostaglandin synthesis system, regulating their production and influence on the menstrual cycle. It helps address other menstrual disorders, including menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding), membranous dysmenorrhea, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In conjunction with other medications, it's used to treat amenorrhea (absence of menstruation) and endometriosis.
Female Infertility:

Sukumaram Kwatham is prescribed for female infertility, especially when conception problems are linked to circulatory disorders, vaginal issues, or undetermined causes. Additionally, the preparation nourishes the mother and child during pregnancy, accelerates postpartum recovery, and improves lactation.

Postpartum/Post-abortion/Post-miscarriage Recovery:

The composition soothes Vata dosha and reduces the adverse effects of increased Kapha dosha, accelerating recovery after childbirth, abortion, or miscarriage. Sukumaram Kwatham gently cleanses the female reproductive organs of any foreign or toxic substances, promoting the health of the female urogenital system.

Uterine and Ovarian Disorders:

Sukumaram Kwatham, in conjunction with other medications, is an effective remedy for ovarian cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), uterine fibroids, or tumors.

Digestive System:

Sukumaram Kwatham balances aggravated Vata dosha in the abdominal region, helping to reduce intra-abdominal pressure and alleviate conditions such as chronic constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), flatulence, and inflammatory bowel diseases. The preparation also has a positive effect in the treatment of abdominal hernias, ulcers, and wounds.
